Travel Surgical Technologist

Job Details

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with orthopedic, ENT, general, and uro/gyn surgery experience for a hospital OR position.

Work in a 5-room hospital OR unit with a team of 12 staff including OR RNs, scrub techs, and first assists
Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 3 CSTs
Perform orthopedic surgeries including total joints, GYN procedures such as hysteroscopy and cystoscopy, ENT procedures including tonsillectomy, thyroidectomy, and FESS, general surgery, and ophthalmic surgery
Use equipment including power drills and saws, Arthrex, Synthes, Stryker, Zimmer, laparoscopic towers, insufflators, bovie, microscope, coblator, suction, cautery, and OR tables
Meditech EMR system in use
Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Float to Endoscopy as needed
Bi-weekly late coverage and call rotation required

Minimum of 2 years of experience required
BLS certification required
CST certification required
State licensure required if applicable
Skilled in surgical identification and setup, sterile technique, aseptic practice, counts, and specimen handling
Experienced in surgical site preparation and draping, and medication handling on the sterile field
Ability to troubleshoot sterile field contamination
Capable of fast room turnover and working independently with minimal orientation
US SSN and DOB required for consideration
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Support surgical procedures across orthopedic, ENT, general, and uro/gyn specialties
Maintain sterile fields and assist with instrument and supply management during cases
Coordinate with surgical team for efficient case turnover
Intraoperative neuromonitoring familiarity and vendor coordination experience preferred
Hospital-laundered scrubs and hair covering required per dress code
Radius rule requires candidates to live 50 miles or more from the facility, with no exceptions for local candidates
