Registered Veterinary Technician

Rocky River Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our hospital in Rocky River, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Fear Free environment and be proficient in using Ezy Vet practice management software. This role requires a dedicated professional who is passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients while ensuring a calm and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. This is a full-time position Monday - Friday.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
- Perform laboratory tests, radiology, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Utilize Fear Free techniques to minimize stress and anxiety in patients.
- Maintain accurate medical records and client communications using EzyVet software.
- Educate clients on pet health, wellness, and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation protocols within the hospital.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Skills:
The technician must have skills/knowledge on how to perform dental cleanings, charting teeth abnormalities, anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgical preparation, intravenous catheter placement, vaccination administration, venipuncture, in-house lab work, and filling prescriptions. Our new Team Member must work well with others as well as independently, take initiative and thrive in a busy work environment.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Ohio is required.
