Position Summary:
RV & Marine Technicians do a little bit of everything: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, we’ll teach you the rest! To get started as a new Technician in our dealership, you don’t need specific RV or Marine experience, but you do need to be handy, responsible, and professional. A successful technician must be dedicated, have the ability to diagnose and fix problems, and have a focus on quality.
Essential Functions:
- Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing
- Troubleshoots entry level pneumatic, hydraulic, electromechanical, and electronic problems and performs necessary adjustment, repair, or overhaul
- Completes repairs to water and sewage plumbing, propane gas lines, and electrical wiring as needed
- Removes damaged exterior panels and assists in the repairs and replacement of structural frame pieces
- Shrink wrap, winterize and de-winterize boats and campers of all kinds
- Desire to learn and grow within a fast paced dealership
Education, Experience and Work Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- RVIA certification preferred but not required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Recommended Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
- Construction skills to repair water damaged units
- Must have own tools appropriate to skill level
- Certification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, are a plus!
- Previous experience in one or more of these skilled trades:
- Boat: Exteriors
- Boat: Interiors
- Carpentry
- Motor & Bilge
- Electrical Systems
Physical Requirements:
- Availability to work more than 40 hours a week including Saturdays and whenever needed to meet business needs
- Flexibility to cover changing work schedules as needed
- Ability to lift to 70 pounds
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, push and pull
- Must be able to stand / walk for extended periods of time
- Potential exposure to heights and hazards
- Exposure to environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness
- Ability to work in changing climates and work outside for extended periods
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
