Job Summary/Overall Objectives
Performs daily routine and project floor care, including operating floor care equipment. Maintains the healthcare environment in a clean, sanitary and attractive condition for customers and employees utilizing various tools and through operation of powered equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Routine floor care includes mopping, stripping and refinishing, scrubbing and burnishing resilient and hard floors, carpet shampoo and extraction. Also includes baseboard cleaning.
- Maintain all assigned equipment; keep equipment clean and in good repair, report all problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
- Set up / tear down for events within the hospital and at off sites
- Delivery / pickup of rental beds and mattresses within the hospital
- Hanging room curtains
- Any additional deep cleaning / large project needs
- Comply with all hospital/department policies and procedures.
- Cognitive ability to function and concentrate on the essential and specialty functions of the job at a high level.
- Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing an essential or specialty function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Must be 18 years of age.
- One (1) year of experience in floor care or project work
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
