Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using standardized assessment tools and clinical observations.
- Develop and implement tailored therapy plans aimed at improving communication skills and swallowing safety for patients of all ages.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care strategies.
- Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and health education to support ongoing therapy outside clinical settings.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy interventions regularly and adjust treatment plans accordingly for optimal outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic radiology reports, and current best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program; licensure or certification as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations in clinical or hospital environments; critical care experience is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management).
- Knowledge of medical procedures including CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS), and patient service protocols.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
- Additional skills such as health education delivery, experience in nursing or rehabilitation settings, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems will enhance your application.
