Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help shape the foundational years of young learners. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional development, and early literacy and numeracy skills. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math activities, and social skills development
- Support classroom management by fostering positive behavior and encouraging respectful interactions among children
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development
- Help supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being
- Contribute to the development of individualized learning strategies for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and classroom events
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or school settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or special needs such as autism or behavioral management challenges
- Technical proficiency with educational tools and resources used in preschool environments
- Previous roles involving toddler care or Montessori methods will be considered an asset
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, children, and families
