Position Overview: We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Ann Arbor team one entire day per week (Wednesdays-8 am to 5 pm) and other weekdays from 4 pm to 8 pm, starting September 2026. Also, the APP should be willing to cover Saturdays 1-2 times over a span of 3 months and Livonia clinic 1-2 times every 3 months.
The NP/PA will focus on follow-up patient visits across our specialty service lines, working collaboratively with Dr. Joel. This is a great opportunity for a clinician who has an interest in lipedema, weight loss, hormone therapy, and Internal Medicine & Primary Care and is looking for a flexible part-time position with room to grow. Training in lipedema care will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct follow-up visits for established patients across lipedema, weight loss, hormone therapy, and primary care
- Review and interpret lab results and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Manage GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy, including dosing, monitoring, and patient counseling
- Provide hormone therapy follow-up care, including menopause, andropause, and thyroid management
- Monitor chronic disease management for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia
- Track lipedema symptom progression and support patients in managing their individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards
- Conduct annual physical exams and Medicare wellness exams
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, obesity medicine, or a related specialty
- Current DEA registration
- Willingness to work collaboratively with a supervising physician
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered care with compassion and empathy
Preferred:
- Knowledge of or clinical interest in lipedema and obesity medicine
- Experience with GLP-1 therapies and/or hormone replacement therapy
- Openness to occasional Saturday availability and flexibility.
