About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to champion continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in optimizing extrusion and thermoforming processes, driving gains in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and enhancing product quality. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise and lean methodologies to identify and implement impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead process improvement initiatives in extrusion and thermoforming, ensuring alignment with plant-wide objectives.
- Provide hands-on technical support to resolve manufacturing challenges, focusing on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with the plant leadership team to develop and execute OEE and quality enhancement plans, contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators.
- Manage capital projects related to process improvements, from initial concept to final implementation.
- Champion safety protocols and initiatives, fostering a culture of safety awareness and proactive hazard mitigation.
- Apply Plan, Do, Check, Adjust (PDCA) methodology to drive continuous daily improvements across the plant.
- Utilize operational data and statistical analysis to inform decision-making and track the effectiveness of improvement efforts.
- Conduct layered audits to ensure adherence to standards and implement corrective actions to maintain goal attainment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with lean methodologies and continuous process improvement techniques.
- Hands-on knowledge of foam extrusion and thermoforming processes on a large scale.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in using Excel and maintenance work order systems.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in dynamic organizational environments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with equipment troubleshooting, including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving process and performance improvements.
