We are seeking a Yard Operations employee to manage and coordinate warehouse/yard distribution activities, including order picking, packing materials, shipping, and receiving. This role involves operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, coordinating logistics, ensuring efficient materials handling, and adhering to strict safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems, as well as familiarity working with large forklifts and tractor-trailers. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth yard operations, ensuring order accuracy, and supporting overall warehouse productivity.

Manage Shipping & Logistics: Oversee shipping and receiving processes, including booking and receiving shipments, scheduling freight pickups/deliveries, and creating Bills of Lading (BOLs).
Order Fulfillment: Perform order picking, securely pack materials, and manage inventory utilizing Acumatica ERP.
Quality Control: Verify and ensure strict shipment accuracy for all incoming materials and outgoing freight.
Equipment Operation: Load and unload materials using heavy equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks. Operate all machinery safely following OSHA guidelines and mechanical best practices.
Material Prep & Assembly: Build and assemble gates, drill posts, and help in other departments as needed to prepare orders for customers.
Materials Handling: Conduct heavy lifting, load securing, and safe pallet jack operation.
Yard Maintenance: Assist in yard organization, ensuring clear pathways and proper storage of goods. Maintain cleanliness and perform general yard cleanup.
Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality, and take responsibility for the mechanical maintenance of yard equipment.
Administration: Maintain accurate documentation of materials movement and inventory levels.
Leadership Support: Support warehouse supervision in daily operations, safety compliance, and process improvements.
Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, logistics, or construction environments.
Skilled in operating heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, RF scanners, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Attention to detail with a strong track record of maintaining shipping/receiving accuracy.
Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles or leadership is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Valid certification for forklift operation preferred but not mandatory depending on experience. If not current, the ability to obtain a forklift operation license is required upon employment.
