Job Title: Adult Psych RN
Assignment Length: 13 weeks with possible extension
Location: Salem, MA
Shift: Day Rotate and EOW - 36hrs.
Pay Rate: $58/hour
Job Description:
Brief Unit Description: 30-bed Adult Unit, ages 18-65 years. We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients: detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, Wound Care, diabetic care).
Skill Sets Required: Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; Able to assume the role of charge nurse; Able to complete admissions and discharges; Competent in the use of IV pumps; Competent in care of a diabetic patient.
Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients.
Patient Population: Adult 18 to 65 years of age.
EMR (Charting System): EPIC.
Floating Required: Yes.
Rotating Shifts Required: Yes, for Day Rotate, (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a). No more than 2-3 shifts per time block and typically not for more than 1 or 2 time blocks (4 week blocks).
Experience/Skills:
- 2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience.
Job Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- Current BLS Certification from AHA
- Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19
