Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Process sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Upsell menu items like wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experiences
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining proper beverage service standards for cocktails, spirits, and wine knowledge
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld during food handling, serving, and bussing activities
- Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation when needed to support kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations; bus tables efficiently to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Engage with guests to foster positive relations and handle any special requests or concerns professionally
- Support host/hostess duties when necessary by greeting guests and managing reservations through systems like OpenTable
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for processing sales transactions accurately
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest rapport and resolve issues promptly
- Basic math skills for cash handling and processing payments accurately
- Experience with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude in high-pressure situations
