Senior Quality Technician — Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Sr. Quality Technician, with a good eye for detail, and a desire to be hands-on in all aspects of quality control. You will be responsible for ensuring purchased and manufactured products meet print requirements, visual standards, function and safety requirements. You will also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, maintain data, draft reports, develop and implement quality control improvements and processes for the use of new equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Developing and maintaining company reports on incoming inspections / supplier scorecards, production quality, and customer quality concerns and returns.
- Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
- Inspect to and help develop finish standards and finish inspection equipment usage guidelines
- Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Identifying, developing and implementing improvements in quality control processes and systems.
- Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
- Conduct First Article Inspections with Reports (FAIRs)
- Train and guide other Quality personnel as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4+ years’ experience as a quality technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and implementing quality processes and procedures.
- Experience leading and training others
- Detail oriented, organized, adaptable and able to prioritize tasks
- Great listening and communication skills with a positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Demonstrate logical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to influence peers and lead cross functional teams
- Team oriented, works well independently with minimal supervision
- Experience collating data, drafting reports, and presenting.
- Strong working knowledge quality concepts, data storage in quality systems, archiving, trending
- Excellent visual awareness
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical information and interpret prints
- Ability to stand or be moving most of the workday
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelors degree in related field
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics365 experience a plus
- Forklift experience and/or the ability to become forklift certified
- Familiarity with Inspection equipment operation including color/gloss measurements
- Keyence and other automated Inspection Equipment
- BYK or similar color spectrophotometers
