Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, offering product demos and recommendations to enhance their experience
- Operate cash registers (POS systems), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer handling with integrity
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting additional items to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring merchandise is well-presented through effective merchandising techniques
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Conduct product knowledge sharing to educate customers about store offerings and features
- Support the team with basic retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management tasks
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math concepts is beneficial
- Demonstrated cashiering skills including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and processing retail sales transactions accurately
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience in busy settings
- Ability to perform stocking duties efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail product knowledge is a plus; prior supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities
