Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our team. In this role, you will support physical therapists in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, maintaining a clean and organized treatment area, and ensuring that patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapy sessions.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas by cleaning and organizing equipment and supplies.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report any concerns to the therapist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as required.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and concerns with empathy.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a hygienic environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient care effectively.
- Experience in hospital settings, including acute care, inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute care environments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Background in orthopedics or geriatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform intake procedures and assist with patient assessments.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
