About the Program
A licensed New Jersey dual diagnosis treatment program is seeking a full-time therapist to join its clinical team. The program provides integrated mental health and substance use treatment across a continuum of care, with an emphasis on individualized, evidence-based clinical services.
Position Summary
The Dual Diagnosis Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy to clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role works closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatric providers, case managers, and program leadership, to deliver coordinated, client-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions
- Document clinical encounters in a timely manner consistent with agency and regulatory standards
- Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, case managers, and outside referral sources
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Maintain compliance with NJ DMHAS and other applicable licensing and accreditation standards
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- Active New Jersey licensure: LSW, LAC, LCSW, LPC, or LCADC (associate or full licensure accepted)
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use populations preferred
- Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care) preferred
Schedule
Full-time, in-person
Pay: $60,000.00 - $87,500.00 per year
