Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver/Certified Care Assistant to provide exceptional in-home care and support to clients with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Administer medications safely following home healthcare regulations and medical instructions
- Support clients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and end-of-life assistance
- Operate patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe movement and prevent injury
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting medical records and personal care activities
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and effective communication to foster a trusting caregiver-client relationship
Skills
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with disabilities, or in assisted living environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
- Skilled in patient observation, patient transfer methods, and handling complex medical needs such as hospice or heavy lifting requirements
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of care activities and medical records
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration within home health or community care settings
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe environment
- Certified in First Aid and CPR; knowledge of home health care regulations and best practices in senior or hospice care
