Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Corrections Healthcare (Baylor Schedule)
Davidson County Jail | Lexington, NC
Good Healthcare Is Good Healthcare — No Matter Where It Happens.
Some of the most dedicated healthcare professionals find meaningful work in places many people overlook: inside the walls of a county detention center. The work is challenging, the patients are diverse, and the difference a compassionate, skilled healthcare professional makes is felt every single shift.
At IMS Correctional Healthcare, we've built our reputation on a simple belief — that every patient deserves to be treated with professionalism, dignity, and genuine care. We partner with county facilities across North Carolina and hold ourselves to a higher standard than the contract requires. If you share that commitment, you'll fit right in here.
We're hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Davidson County Jail in Lexington, NC — a community-focused facility where your skills and dedication will make an impact.
What You'll Do
As part of the healthcare team, you’ll provide essential clinical support and help ensure patients receive quality care in a correctional setting. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with patient care and clinical support activities
- Obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient information
- Assisting with medication-related duties as permitted by certification and facility protocols
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
- Supporting patient assessments, screenings, and healthcare needs
- Assisting nursing staff with daily healthcare operations
- Communicating effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and facility personnel
- Following facility policies, healthcare protocols, and confidentiality standards
- Providing respectful, professional care to every patient encounter
Every interaction — with patients, correctional staff, and your IMS colleagues — is an opportunity to demonstrate what compassionate healthcare looks like.
Who You Are
You are a certified medical assistant who brings professionalism, reliability, and compassion to your work. You communicate clearly, remain calm in challenging situations, and understand the importance of treating every patient with dignity and respect.
Correctional healthcare experience is a plus but not required. What matters most is your commitment to quality care, teamwork, and making a positive impact.
