About the Role
Rebirth Biofuels is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our Ponchatoula facility. The plant is operational — what’s needed now is the team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to build a full crew of plant operators and drivers from the ground up, establishing the standards, training, and culture from day one.
We collect used cooking oil and grease trap waste from commercial customers, clean and process it, and sell the finished product to a local refinery. Our work keeps jobs and revenue in the local community while properly diverting waste from the environment.

What You’ll Do
- Oversee all inbound plant operations, including truck arrivals, unloading, and staging
- Interview, hire, and onboard the plant’s first plant operators and drivers — a priority from day one
- Train every new team member on safety protocols, route procedures, equipment handling, and our standards for cleanliness and customer service
- Manage end-to-end processing workflows, from intake through preparing material for sale to the refinery
- Build and publish weekly staff schedules and handle daily invoicing as the team grows
- Serve as the plant’s primary operational and safety leader
- Establish training and mentorship standards for the team you build — grounded in integrity and respect
What You Bring
- 10+ years of leadership/management experience, ideally in operations, waste management, or a related field
- Industry knowledge relevant to UCO/grease trap collection, waste processing, or similar operations
- Proven experience interviewing, hiring, and training staff — ideally from the ground up
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Working knowledge of safety protocols, PPE compliance, and equipment handling
- A leadership style suited to building a team and culture from scratch — one that values trust, accountability, and respect over drama
Compensation & Advancement
Starting pay is $33.00/hr, paid hourly with guaranteed overtime. Performance-based increases follow a structured path:
→ 30 days → $35.00/hr
→ +45 days → $37.00/hr
→ +45 days → $39.00/hr
→ +90 days → $40.00/hr
