Administrative Assistant- Roanoke, VA
Mattern & Craig has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented and responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative tasks. These tasks include providing support to our managers and staff, assisting with routine office needs, and managing general administrative activities. Responsibilities include answering phones, welcoming visitors, speaking with clients, scheduling office maintenance as needed, processing incoming and outgoing mail and other materials, scheduling vehicle maintenance, making travel and meeting arrangements, typing and preparing reports, and assisting management with small projects.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Good time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Strong writing/editing and proof-reading ability.
- Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and other English language skills.
- Proficiency with relevant software applications – MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
- Detail oriented with good interpersonal skills – has ability to work well with people.
- Knowledge of business principles a plus.
- Reliable with initiative and motivation.
Required Experience:
- Position requires 3+ years of relevant experience and/or Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Business Communications, English, or closely related field.
- Experience in an architectural, engineering, or other professional services firm is desirable.
