The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating production equipment to ensure continuous, efficient manufacturing on the assigned shift. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, equipment functionality, and adherence to safety and food manufacturing standards.
Equipment Operation & Production

Clean, set up, operate, and monitor production equipment

Read and follow production schedules

Ensure proper materials are loaded (cans, valves, caps)

Perform filler and gasser changeovers safely and efficiently
-
Prepare equipment for upcoming production runs, including size changes
Quality & Process Control

Complete pre-operational checklists
-
Read and monitor pressure gauges
-
Verify scale weights on filler and gasser machinery
-
Perform butterfat testing
-
Sign off on batch releases
-
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate equipment issues
Sanitation & Compliance
-
Spray equipment hourly using sanitizing water to maintain cleanliness

Perform CIP/COP and sterilization processes on equipment

Flush hot water through filler machines after production

Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with SOPs and GMP standards
Team & Shift Support

Provide coverage for fellow operators during breaks and lunch periods

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Support overall shift productivity and efficiency
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or GED preferred
-
3–5 years of machine operating experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

Ability to read and interpret schedules, safety rules, and operating instructions

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)

Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability

Ability to work in high-noise environments (hearing protection required)

Ability to lift and stack boxes up to 30 lbs

Exposure to non-climate-controlled environments (hot and cold conditions)

Frequent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and walking

Ability to climb ladders (up to 4 feet)
This position operates primarily in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. The role requires regular communication with internal departments and external stakeholders to support international shipment operations.
