Job Title: Tasting Room Manager

Reports To: Katelyn Andersen, Hospitality Manager
Position Overview
The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for leading daily tasting room operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving wine sales and club memberships. This role combines hospitality, team leadership, and business performance—ideal for someone who can create a warm, welcoming environment while also hitting revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives a high-quality, memorable tasting experience
- Set the tone for service standards and lead by example on the floor
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing tasting room environment
Sales & Performance
- Drive wine sales, wine club sign-ups, and upselling opportunities
- Train staff on sales techniques, product knowledge, and storytelling
- Track daily/weekly/monthly sales performance and adjust strategies as needed
- Support execution of promotions, events, and seasonal offerings
Team Leadership & Training
- Hire, train, and manage tasting room staff
- Ensure proper staffing levels for daily traffic levels
- Coach team members to improve performance and accountability
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture
Operations & Administration
- Oversee POS systems, cash handling, and daily reporting
- Manage inventory of wine, merchandise, and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal alcohol regulations
- Coordinate with production, marketing, and wine club teams
Events & Partnerships
- Assist with planning and executing winery events and private tastings
- Represent the winery in the local community when needed
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in hospitality, retail, or winery operations
- Prior management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong sales mindset with a track record of meeting goals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of wine (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine)
