Montana Fabrication Works is an AISC-certified heavy industrial steel fabricator and equipment manufacturer specializing in custom equipment and material handling systems for mining, sand & gravel, and other bulk material handling industries. Our work includes fixed conveyors, mobile conveyors & stackers, tube conveyors, belt feeders, mobile processing plants, bins, hoppers, and transfer towers. Additionally, we have significant expertise in penstock, piping, gates, and general structural steel. Our 76,000-square-foot facility includes in-house detailing, certified welding inspection, advanced fabrication equipment, and sophisticated industrial coating capabilities.

Position Summary
Prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates and proposals for industrial steel fabrication and equipment assembly projects. Own bid preparation, takeoffs, labor estimates, vendor pricing, and proposal development. Project management experience is preferred and the ability to support awarded projects is a strong advantage.
Primary Responsibilities
· Review drawings, specifications and contracts
· Prepare complete material takeoffs
· Develop labor and equipment estimates
· Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations
· Manage RFIs, submittals and change orders
· Prepare professional proposals
· Conduct project turnover meetings
Technical Knowledge
· AWS D1.1
· AISC Certification
· Structural steel and plate fabrication
· Conveyors and material handling
· PowerFab
· SDS/2, Inventor, AutoCAD, Advance Steel
Success Metrics
· Estimate accuracy
· Proposal turnaround
· Bid win rate
· Gross margin
· Quality of handoff
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years relevant experience
· Excellent communication
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to read drawings and interpret technical specifications
· Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
· Cross-functional experience in project management.
· Experience with conveyors, structural steel, pressure vessels, hoppers, bins and heavy industrial fabrication.
· Engineering, Construction Management or related degree (or equivalent experience).
· Experience with Powerfab, or other MRP or ERP system
