The Joseph A. Jeffries Co Inc is a full service paving contractor located in the Stark County, Ohio area. We are currently searching for experienced and motivated workers for the paving season. We offer paid health insurance, 401(k), HSA and uniforms with a good working environment. We require a minimum of two years experience, clean background check and a pre-employment drug and medical screen to be considered for employment.

Job Summary:
MUST HAVE ASPHALT PAVING EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION
- Learn and exhibit company core values, resulting in a cooperative, positive and supportive attitude.
- Properly follow all company policies.
- Properly follow all OSHA regulations and company Safety Program requirements to ensure safe working procedures and a safe working environment.
- Level asphalt/aggregate to grade specifications using rakes and shovels.
- Dig, spread, level and remove construction materials.
- Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies. Walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Assist with the placement, movement and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control and safety devices.
- Follow directions of foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific job site.
- Work collaboratively as a team with foreman, fellow crew members and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including: preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specification, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week with work on Saturdays if required.
- Possess a valid CDL driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Work well with a paving team, foreman and management.
- Experience involving the control and operation of either the asphalt roller, paving machine or truck driver/worker.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to pass a drug screen, medical and background check.
