Pete’s Bar & Grill is looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is hands-on and fast-paced, focused on preparing quality food consistently while working as part of a team during busy service.
This role includes cooking, food prep, cleaning, and dishwashing as part of normal kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
- Set up and stock stations before service
- Assist with food prep, portioning, and basic kitchen production
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed during and after shifts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, and dish area
- Assist with kitchen cleaning duties, including closing and periodic deep cleaning
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Communicate effectively with teammates during busy shifts
- Follow direction from the Kitchen Manager / Head Chef
Requirements
- Kitchen or line cook experience preferred (will train the right candidate)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to assist with all kitchen duties as needed
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
90-Day Attendance & Performance Standard
The first 90 days of employment are considered an introductory period. During this time, employees are expected to:
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
- Communicate schedule issues in advance when possible
- Follow kitchen procedures, recipes, and standards
- Assist with assigned kitchen duties, including prep, cleaning, and dishes
Successful completion of the 90-day period may lead to additional responsibilities, increased hours, and future growth opportunities.
