Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive guest services throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system
- Process sales transactions efficiently while handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with precision
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wine, spirits, and special dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards
- Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to ensure sanitation compliance
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery of dishes in fine dining or casual settings
- Manage reservations using platforms like OpenTable and support guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns professionally
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings including wine pairings, spirits, and culinary ingredients to provide expert recommendations
- Uphold sanitation standards through proper food handling practices and adherence to health regulations at all times
Skills
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations gracefully
- Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to balance multiple tables or transactions efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently by understanding product details like wine knowledge or cocktail recipes
- Previous restaurant experience in roles such as server, host/hostess, or cashier is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, change calculation, and sales transaction processing
- Familiarity with food preparation processes or kitchen experience is a plus for better team coordination
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and interact positively with guests
