Our primary treatment protocols focus on GLP-1 receptor agonists and other Schedule VI weight management medications.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a board-certified Physician (MD or DO) with an active Virginia license to serve as a Collaborating Physician for our solo Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will not provide direct patient care. Instead, you will provide the regulatory oversight, protocol approval, and occasional clinical guidance required by the state of Virginia for independent-practice collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Establish a formal Practice Agreement that complies with Virginia Board of Nursing and Medicine guidelines.
- Chart Review: Conduct monthly reviews of a small, random sample of patient charts to ensure quality and adherence to protocols.
- Clinical Consultation: Be available via phone or secure message for occasional consultation on complex patient cases or side effect management.
- Protocol Approval: Review and sign off on evidence-based medical weight loss and GLP-1 prescribing protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Virginia.
- Credentials: Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, or Obesity Medicine is highly preferred.
- DEA & Prescribing: Active DEA registration (though primarily handling Schedule VI non-controlled substances, a clean prescribing history is required).
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and digital communication tools (secure email, messaging, or phone).
- Availability: Responsive to consultation requests within a reasonable, agreed-upon timeframe (typically 24–48 hours).
Compensation & Workload Limits
- Flat Retainer: $400.00 per month.
- Workload Cap: Retainer covers the review of up to 10 charts per month (or 10% of active patients, whichever is lower) and up to 1 hour of total consultation time per month.
- Low Malpractice Risk: Zero direct patient contact, face-to-face visits, or direct prescribing responsibilities.
Pay: $400.00 per month
