Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to join our team at Prospect Heights Middle. The successful candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences to students. Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Support students in their learning by providing individualized attention and assistance as needed.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as appropriate.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Facilitate small group or one-on-one instruction to reinforce lessons and concepts taught by the teacher.
- Assist with the implementation of classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the diverse needs of students.
- Perform administrative tasks such as grading assignments, maintaining student records, and preparing reports.
- Engage with students in extracurricular activities and support their social and emotional development.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
