Position Summary
The General Manager serves as the senior operational leader of Rose Cafe & Restaurant. This role oversees every aspect of the business including front-of-house operations, financial performance, guest experience, team development, sales growth, private events, and strategic execution.
We are looking for a leader who leads from the floor, inspires excellence, holds high standards, and understands that luxury hospitality is built through consistency, attention to detail, and exceptional people.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all daily restaurant operations while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Own the restaurant's financial performance, including full P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, food and beverage cost control, inventory, and profitability.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop managers and team members while building a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Lead and mentor the management team through regular coaching, performance evaluations, and leadership development.
- Establish and maintain Forbes-inspired luxury service standards across every aspect of the guest experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless execution of food quality, service timing, menu development, and operational excellence.
- Develop strategies to increase sales, improve profitability, maximize guest retention, and strengthen Rose Café's market presence.
- Oversee private events, special activations, seasonal promotions, and business development opportunities.
- Analyze financial reports, labor reports, guest feedback, operational KPIs, and sales trends to make data-driven decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, licensing, safety, and company policies.
- Build lasting relationships with VIP guests, local residents, business partners, and repeat clientele.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, maintenance, and overall restaurant presentation.
- Foster a positive, high-performance work environment where team members feel supported, challenged, and motivated.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of restaurant management experience.
- Minimum 3 years as a General Manager or Director of Operations in an upscale, luxury, or fine dining restaurant.
- Proven success managing high-volume restaurant operations.
- Strong financial acumen with full P&L ownership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, coach, and retain high-performing teams.
- Experience managing multiple department managers and teams of 50+ employees.
- Extensive knowledge of luxury hospitality and Forbes Five-Star service standards.
- Strong understanding of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, wine, and beverage service. WSET certification is a plus.
- Experience with Toast POS, OpenTable or Resy, scheduling software, inventory systems, and restaurant reporting platforms.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English required. Spanish is highly preferred.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
