Panera Bread is seeking dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented team members to join our café as Opening Team Members. In this role, you will help prepare the café for the day by baking fresh products, setting up food stations, and ensuring the drive-thru and dining areas are ready to provide an outstanding guest experience. This position is ideal for early risers who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive on time to complete all opening procedures before the café opens
- Bake and prepare fresh breads, pastries, cookies, and other bakery items according to Panera standards
- Set up sandwich, salad, and production lines with fresh ingredients and supplies
- Stock beverage stations, condiments, and front counter supplies
- Prepare the drive-thru area, ensuring equipment and POS systems are ready for service
- Assist with taking guest orders and serving customers during the morning rush when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the café, kitchen, and prep areas
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and inventory levels
- Follow all food safety, cleanliness, and company operating procedures
- Work closely with the opening team to ensure the café is fully prepared for a successful day
Qualifications & Skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Previous baking, food preparation, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule Requirements
- Morning openers only
- Typical shifts between 4:30am-8am/9am, 5:30 AM–11:00 AM, or 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Availability on weekends and holidays preferred
