Job Overview
The Spray Technician will be responsible for applying fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other plant health care products to maintain healthy and attractive landscapes. This role requires knowledge of turf and ornamental care, safe chemical handling practices, compliance with pesticide regulations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while achieving quality treatment results.
Duties
- Apply fertilizers, weed control products, insecticides, fungicides, and other landscape treatment products.
- Inspect lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscape beds to identify weeds, pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Diagnose turf and plant health issues and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, tanks, pumps, and application vehicles.
- Mix chemicals according to label instructions and company standards.
- Monitor weather conditions to ensure safe and effective product applications.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, products used, application rates, and customer interactions.
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations related to chemical handling and application.
- Educate customers on landscape care, treatment recommendations, and preventative maintenance.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with other landscape maintenance duties as needed.
Experience
- Knowledge of turfgrass, ornamental plants, weeds, insects, and common plant diseases.
- Ability to safely handle, mix, and apply pesticides and fertilizers.
- Understanding of pesticide labels, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- State pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain certification.
- Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, turf management, golf course maintenance, agriculture, or pest control.
- Experience operating commercial spray equipment and application technology.
- Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
