Hatch Stamping Company is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill the position of Buyer & Tool Crib Attendant. This opportunity is excellent for those who thrive under pressure and not only have a passion for Quality but Customer Service.
The Buyer & Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies and services, while also overseeing the tool crib to ensure tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and available for production. This position involves negotiating contracts, implementing cost-reduction initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate procurement processes.
Responsibilities (This section is not inclusive. Other duties maybe assigned as necessary).
- Establish and manage blanket orders for non-inventory items to ensure consistent supply chain flow.
- Meet with suppliers and internal departments as needed to discuss pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Manage the tool crib inventory to ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are available for production and maintenance teams.
- Monitor tool calibration schedules and ensure timely maintenance and calibration of all equipment.
- Understands and manages a monthly budget for multiple facilities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or a related field (tool crib management a plus).
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
- Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, and inventory management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Procurement certification (CPSM, CIPS) preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Follow plant safety rules and guidelines.
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Working Conditions
- Operates in an office environment, with frequent need to work in warehouse or on production floor while sourcing products and materials.
