Overview
The Sanitation Supervisor has the responsibility of ensuring that Plant Sanitation & Facilities levels meet all regulatory and in-house standards by providing strong leadership and operating expertise.
This position is responsible for leading all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of production, packaging, dry storage areas and production equipment on a daily basis. To ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with USDA, HACCP, FDA, GMP, and SQF. The facility is kept in a clean and healthy condition and all safety policies and procedures as well as other established policies and requirements necessary are maintained.
Supervisor oversees and performs many sanitations, building maintenance, safety and management tasks that promote a clean and safe working environment for the building and it’s employees
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic sanitation programs, policies, plans and processes to ensure that sanitary performance meets Pane Vita Foods standards as well as supports Food Safety requirement towards regulatory compliance
- Manage master sanitation & facilities plan and track performance
- Manage sanitation and food safety supplies, chemicals, gloves, hairnets and additional supplies as assigned
- Ensure that the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time
- Maintain a safe work environment by properly implementing SOPs and PPE programs The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, face mask, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.
- Train the sanitation crew on safety awareness for chemical handling and equipment operation with Lock out Tag out training
- Maintain good communication team members, peers and other members of management
- Participate in audits, facility inspections and coordinate pre-operational inspection with QC Management
- Assure that the facility fully complies with all USDA, FDA, and SQF regulations, employee safety and environmental standards. Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor areas
- Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed (painting, caulking lights, grounds keeping).
- Creating work orders on repairs, safety and other occurrences
- Collaborating with management on budgeting for sanitation & facilities needs
- Prepare reports regarding inspections and corrective actions taken
- Coordinate with maintenance or others as appropriate to solve sanitation-related problems
- Coordinate training and maintain records of employee technical and safety training.
- Manage waste disposal systems.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sanitation team.
Requirements
- Supervising or management experience in janitorial, custodial, environments.
- Strong background in cleaning practices, including commercial cleaning,
- Knowledge of safety standards related to sanitation procedures and hazardous materials handling.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience in manufacturing or food production environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other departments and report on sanitation activities.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
