About the Role
As a Precision Manual Machinist, you will play a critical role in our custom fabrication shop by transforming raw materials into high-precision industrial components. You will leverage your expertise in manual machining to ensure that complex parts meet exact engineering standards, directly impacting the reliability and performance of our clients' critical pump systems.
Responsibilities-
Execute complex setups and manual machining operations for custom pump components, including impellers, bearing housings, and seals.

Interpret intricate mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine the most efficient machining strategies.

Perform high-precision metal shaping, grinding, and fitting using equipment such as vertical and horizontal boring mills and ID/OD grinders.

Validate component dimensions using advanced inspection tools to ensure strict adherence to tolerance requirements.

Collaborate with engineering and shop teams to troubleshoot production challenges and optimize machining workflows.

Maintain all shop machinery in peak operational condition to ensure consistent quality and safety.

5+ years of professional experience operating large-scale manual machinery in an industrial environment.

Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances (0.0005" or less) on large components like pump shafts.

Proficiency in applying geometry and shop mathematics to calculate angles, radii, and bolt circles.

Expertise in setting up jigs, fixtures, arbors, and mandrels for diverse machining tasks.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a formal vocational or technical training program.

Attainment of Journeyman status in machining.

Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for complex, hands-on fabrication.
