Position Overview
SRS Family Law is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Document Clerk to support our legal and administrative teams with document management, court filings, file organization, and general office support. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment, and able to handle confidential information with care and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
The Document Clerk will be responsible for preparing, organizing, scanning, filing, and maintaining legal documents and client files. Duties may include processing incoming and outgoing mail, saving and naming documents according to firm procedures, assisting with court filings, managing physical and electronic files, and ensuring documents are accurately routed to the appropriate attorney, paralegal, or staff member.
Additional responsibilities may include copying, printing, binding, mailing legal documents, updating case files, assisting with records retention, and providing general administrative support as needed.
Essential Duties
- Scan, save, file, and organize legal documents in the firm’s document management system
- Maintain accurate physical and electronic client files
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and legal correspondence
- Assist with court filings, service copies, and document preparation
- Copy, print, bind, label, and assemble legal documents and client materials
- Ensure documents are named, stored, and routed according to firm procedures
- Support attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff with document-related tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information at all times
- Assist with file opening, closing, archiving, and records management
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior office, administrative, or legal support experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Comfortable using computers, scanners, copiers, and office equipment
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe/Foxit, Centerbase, and/or document management systems
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow established procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior law firm experience
- Familiarity with court filing procedures
- Experience with legal document management systems
- Knowledge of family law, civil litigation, or legal office procedures
Work Environment
This position is performed in a professional office setting and may require extended periods of sitting, standing, scanning, filing, and working at a computer. The role may also involve lifting or moving file boxes and office materials.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
