Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Drywall Estimator to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive profitability and efficiency on commercial drywall projects by interpreting technical drawings, managing material costs, and providing precise pricing strategies. Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for drywall installation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Manage project budgets by analyzing costs, controlling expenses, and ensuring estimates align with client expectations and project constraints.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to review contracts, scope changes, and project timelines.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify quantities, and interpret technical drawings for precise estimation.
- Prepare detailed spreadsheets and reports to support bid submissions and internal cost analysis.
- Assist in managing project schedules by estimating timelines based on scope of work and resource availability.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and new estimating techniques to continuously improve accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on commercial drywall projects.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Solid understanding of construction industry practices including cost control, material estimation, and contract management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective negotiation skills for pricing discussions with vendors and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis.
- Construction site experience that enhances understanding of field conditions impacting estimates.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of construction drawing review processes and estimating for commercial projects is highly desirable.
