Travel RN - Telemetry - Intermediate Care

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/IMC position requiring WI or compact RN license and acute care telemetry experience.

Active WI or compact RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in cardiac telemetry or PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown specialty
Prior travel nursing experience required
Preference for candidates with at least 3 years of core staff experience prior to travel nursing
Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and blood product administration required
Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration required
Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management required

Provide telemetry nursing care within a cardiac and stepdown unit setting at a nationally ranked, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
Traveler must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria, including 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification and an 80% or higher passing score, within two attempts
If the second attempt is failed, a certificate of completion for a cardiac interpretation review course must be submitted before a third attempt is allowed
Assignment will be cancelled if the exam is not passed after three attempts
Experience with dysrhythmia management, rapid response/code teams, and cardiac drip management (no titration) is part of daily responsibilities
Preferred experience includes teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings
Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
