Hours: 36 hours per week; Monday - Thursday, 8:30 to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Position is on site.
Pay Rate: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience
Duration: to be determined. This is a temporary role that may be short-term or could extend to 2-3 months or beyond as needed. Excellent opportunity to gain experience with a large organization’s HR department
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, or related field is strongly preferred; additional experience may be substituted for a degree
As an HR Generalist, you will:
- Support day-to-day Human Resources operations with a focus on employee relations, performance management, policy and legal compliance, and general organizational support for a dedicated business group within the organization
- Partner with other members of the HR team and department leaders to ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance
- Foster positive communication and collaboration to identify areas of concern and implement proactive solutions
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, and workplace issues; provide clarification regarding policies and practices as needed
- Conduct investigations and document findings to ensure timely resolution
- Complete administrative processes for submitting leaves of absence, accommodations, unemployment and worker’s compensation claims and document for employee records
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of two to three years of HR Generalist experience to include knowledge of leave of absence requirements and compliance, employment laws and best practices, conducting investigations, and performance management
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with a variety of people. Demonstrates initiative, confidentiality, integrity, adaptability, and a can-do, results-driven attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
