Painter's Assistant / Apprentice (1099 Independent Contractor)Job Description
Timberline Painting LLC is looking for a hardworking, dependable Painter's Assistant / Apprentice to help with residential painting projects throughout Northern Colorado.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up on time, learns quickly, and treats our clients' homes with professionalism and respect.
No painting experience is required. However, you must be a fast learner, dependable, able to follow instructions, and willing to work hard. We'll train the right person with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys physical work, wants to learn a skilled trade, and is looking for the opportunity for ongoing work with a growing local company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead painter with prep work, painting, cleanup, and general job site tasks.
- Prepare surfaces by masking, sanding, patching, caulking, and cleaning.
- Help load, unload, and organize painting equipment and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow company safety procedures and job site expectations.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members.
- Travel reliably to residential job sites throughout Northern Colorado.
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Fast learner with the ability to follow directions.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Professional and respectful around clients and coworkers.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders throughout the day.
- Must provide basic hand tools (brushes, rollers, scrapers, putty knife, etc.).
- Painting or construction experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Position Details
- 1099 Independent Contractor position (not W-2 employment).
- Selected applicants must complete a W-9 before beginning work.
- Independent contractors are responsible for their own taxes.
- Pay based on experience and performance.
- Contract position with the opportunity for ongoing work.
- Schedule varies based on project needs.
- Most work is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend opportunities.
- Projects are located throughout Northern Colorado.
