Locally owned and operated waste hauling company seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in keeping our fleet operational and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assemble and maintain various components of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Repair air brake systems and HVAC units as necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance is essential.
- Experience working on garbage trucks is preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
