We are actively seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Specialist for potential openings for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will primarily support students in the elementary and upper elementary grades. Candidates must have a strong background in special education and a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
The Learning Specialist will work closely with students, classroom teachers, and the Learning Support Team to provide targeted academic support in both classroom and small group settings. This role includes implementing accommodations and modifications, supporting differentiated instruction, and explicitly teaching and reinforcing foundational academic and executive functioning skills.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team based environment;
- strong verbal and written communication skills;
- a deep understanding of child development, particularly in elementary and upper elementary students;
- expertise in designing and implementing accommodations and modifications;
- experience supporting literacy and mathematics skill development;
- the ability to support students in both classroom and small group settings;
- comfort working within an inclusive, co taught model;
- a student centered, flexible, and solution oriented approach.
A degree in Special Education is required. Experience working with elementary or upper elementary students with learning differences is required. An advanced degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field is preferred.
