We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation of medical information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Point Click Care.
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders, and medication administration.
- Support residents with daily activities such as mobility assistance, manual handling, and personal hygiene to promote independence and dignity.
- Perform routine medical procedures including wound care, vital signs checks, and basic physiology assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare guidelines.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient care plans for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory care needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations by answering resident call lights and providing first aid or CPR as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and geriatric patient care practices.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Point Click Care (PCC) ; experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and conduct manual handling tasks efficiently.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing patient privacy and medical documentation.
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Valid license from the State Board of Nursing or relevant healthcare authority is required.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
