Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, providing a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast, ensuring clarity and efficiency
- Serve food and drinks with enthusiasm, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Manage tables efficiently by bussing, resetting, and assisting with food handling and sanitation practices to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timely food preparation and delivery for fine dining or casual settings
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Support other restaurant operations such as hosting or bussing as needed in a fast-paced environment like a nightclub or food service setting
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems including Toast and OpenTable for reservations and order management
- Hard-working
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Excellent communication skills paired with a positive attitude to foster guest loyalty
