Help customers turn an idea into a successful project
Crowe Fence & Deck Supply has helped Southern New Hampshire homeowners, contractors, businesses, and municipalities improve their properties for more than 40 years.
We are hiring a construction-minded sales professional to meet with customers, evaluate their properties, recommend the right solution, prepare accurate proposals, and remain involved from the initial conversation through successful installation.
Fence experience is not required. We can teach products, materials, and installation methods. We are looking for someone who can learn technical information, communicate confidently, stay organized, follow up consistently, and ask for the sale.
This is a W-2 position with an ongoing guaranteed base salary and not a temporary draw or commission-only role.
What You Will Do
Sales and Estimating:
- Respond promptly to assigned residential and commercial opportunities
- Conduct consultations at homes, businesses, jobsites, and our Amherst showroom
- Understand each customer’s goals, priorities, timing, and budget
- Measure project areas and document grades, access, utilities, obstructions, gates, property considerations, and other relevant conditions
- Recommend appropriate fencing, decking, railing, and outdoor-living solutions
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely estimates and proposals
- Present options and pricing confidently and ask customers to move forward
- Maintain consistent, professional follow-up until the customer makes a decision
- Keep appointments, notes, photos, proposals, and follow-up activity current in our CRM
- Meet agreed goals for response time, proposals, close rate, revenue, and gross margin
Project Quality and Customer Follow-Through
- Set accurate expectations regarding scope, timing, site preparation, and installation
- Create complete, accurate project handoffs for the operations team
- Review sold projects with the Operations Manager before they are released for installation
- Participate in pre-installation quality checks to confirm that the sold scope and customer expectations are understood
- Remain appropriately involved after the sale rather than disappearing at contract signing
- Partner with the Operations Manager on post-installation quality checks and customer follow-up
- Help confirm that the completed project matches what was promised
- Support the resolution of scope questions, customer concerns, or expectation gaps
- Build long-term customer relationships and generate reviews, referrals, and repeat business
You May Be a Strong Fit If You
- Have succeeded in consultative, in-home, construction, building-material, or home-improvement sales
- Can establish trust without relying on high-pressure tactics
- Are comfortable discussing projects worth thousands or tens of thousands of dollars
- Have enough construction aptitude to understand measurements, grades, materials, access, and installation constraints
- Communicate clearly in person, by phone, by text, and by email
- Follow up persistently and professionally
- Can manage multiple active opportunities without losing details
- Take responsibility for both the sale and the final customer outcome
- Are comfortable using a CRM, estimating tools, email, calendars, and mobile technology
- Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
Relevant backgrounds may include fencing, decking, remodeling, roofing, windows and doors, landscaping, hardscaping, HVAC, kitchens and baths, lumber, building materials, real estate, or other consultative sales.
