Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners, maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to promote safety and well-being.
- Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure patient safety at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and providing support across various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with attention to safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is preferred; prior experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus. Pay: $16.09 - $22.01 per hour
