Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to deliver freight across designated local routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of trailers, flatbeds, and other specialized trailers.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including manual transmission checks and safety features.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and route reports to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist with maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues immediately to prevent delays or accidents.
Experience
- At least 2 years of verifiable, current experience driving a tractor-trailer combination with a 53' trailer.
- Valid Class A CDL license for no less than 2 years, with a clean driving record.
- Hands-on experience operating manual transmission trucks is a plus, but not required, and various trailer types such as dry vans, flatbeds, and roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with freight handling equipment like pallet-jacks, dollies, and forklifts is a plus.
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and load & unload procedures for different freight types.
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and adhere to safety standards consistently.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
