Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling and balancing at shift end.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to ensure the store remains attractive and well-organized.
- Maintain knowledge of store products to offer informed recommendations and improve the customer shopping experience.
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for quick calculations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members in a bilingual environment if applicable.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or ability to oversee team tasks during shifts.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, sales totals, and inventory counts.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management.
- Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during high-volume periods.
