We are seeking a passionate and dedicated NICU Nurse to join our dynamic and fast-paced healthcare team. This is a full-time, permanent role where you will be responsible for providing critical care to premature and sick newborn babies who are admitted to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and utilize your specialized skills and knowledge to ensure the highest level of care is provided to our smallest patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity NICU setting, monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and performing necessary procedures.
2. Utilize ventilator management (neonatal), CPAP / HFNC management, phototherapy management, and thermoregulation & incubator care techniques to stabilize and improve the health of newborns.
3. Implement and adhere to the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) guidelines during emergencies.
4. Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR system.
5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
6. Provide education and emotional support to families, helping them understand their newborn's condition and care requirements.
7. Participate in emergency response and rapid stabilization efforts, demonstrating quick decision-making and problem-solving skills.
8. Continually update knowledge and skills to keep pace with the latest advancements in neonatal care.
Qualifications:
1. Current and valid RN license.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU setting.
3. Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
4. Proven experience in ventilator management (neonatal), CPAP / HFNC management, phototherapy management, and thermoregulation & incubator care.
5. Strong ability to provide family education & support in a NICU setting.
6. Proficiency in EMR documentation and clinical charting.
7. Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to emergencies and rapidly stabilize patients.
8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment, while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
10. Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
