Job Summary
Partners in Hope is looking for an energetic, outgoing, organized individual for the Volunteer Recruitment / Community Outreach Coordinator position. This person serves as an ambassador for Partners in Hope, representing the organization at community events and working with Partner Churches to strengthen engagement, increase volunteer participation, and promote awareness of the organization’s services.
This position oversees the volunteer experience from recruitment through initial orientation, including onboarding, placement, and recognition. The coordinator also supports the planning and execution of agency events, community outreach activities, and related initiatives that advance the mission of Partners in Hope. This position will report to the Executive Director.
Work Schedule
This is a 20-hour-per-week position with core office hours Monday through Friday. The schedule also requires flexibility for evening and weekend activities, as needed. The position reports to the Executive Director.
Position Responsibilities :
Volunteer Recruitment and Management
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit new volunteers from the community for all Partners in Hope program areas.
- Screen, interview, and onboard volunteers, including completing background checks, reference checks, and required paperwork.
- Create and lead orientation and training sessions that prepare volunteers for their roles.
- Develop and manage volunteer schedules and coordinate teams for events, projects, and ongoing programs.
- Implement volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts to encourage engagement and retention.
Event and Project Coordination
- Plan, organize, and support Caregiver program gatherings, community outreach activities, and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with staff and committees to identify volunteer needs and help ensure events and projects run smoothly.
- Community Outreach and Engagement
- Represent Partners in Hope at community events, including United Way agency fairs, Continuum of Care opportunities, and other outreach settings.
- Support the distribution of agency materials and promote opportunities for clients and community volunteers to participate with Partners in Hope, including through social media and other publicity channels.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date volunteer records, including contact information, service hours, and performance evaluations.
- Use volunteer management software and databases to track activity and generate reports on program impact.
- Ensure volunteer activities comply with legal requirements and organizational policies, including confidentiality and data protection standards.
Qualifications
- Experience recruiting, supporting, and managing volunteers.
- Ability to foster a supportive and empowering environment for volunteers and Partner Church members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong creativity, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Successful completion of a background check.
