We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Intuit accounting products. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, tax support, and month-end close activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounting functions.
The successful candidate will be organized, analytical, technology-savvy, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently in a fully remote environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Research and resolve account discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
- Manage vendor payments and maintain vendor records.
- Generate customer invoices and monitor collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues.
- Support cash flow monitoring and reporting activities.
Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist with preparation of sales tax filings and other regulatory reports.
- Support tax return preparation activities.
- Assist with external audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain organized records to support audit and tax requirements.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial reports and management schedules.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends or variances.
- Develop ad hoc reports and analyses for management.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Systems & Technology
- Utilize accounting software and technology tools to streamline workflows.
- Maintain accurate financial and operational data.
- Support accounting system enhancements and automation initiatives.
- Manage electronic files and document retention procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a related environment.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
