Job Summary
Join Camellia, a Japanese, and ESL tutoring school. Looking for tutors that can teach in person adult and children. Students are of all levels. Ideal candidate will have flexible availability as well as experience teaching. This is an as needed position. Student enrollment differs according to times of the year, and the need for tutors fluctuates as well. Please specify how many students you can take on in process of application. Long term commitment is favorable. In person lessons will be held at libraries, cafes, Camellia classroom, or wherever the tutor feels appropriate.
Duties
- In charge of a student an hour or two per week in different skill areas
- be passionate about the learning of the students, and always incorporate their goals and needs in the lessons
- Devise a lesson plans, and plan activities for the lessons
- Keep communications about the lessons and progress of the students with head tutor
Skills
- Native, or fluency in the Japanese language
- Have graduated high school, or equivalent
- Experience in teaching, and confidence in lesson planning
- Experience in working with children, or a responsible, and caring outlook in working with children
- Insight and interest in Japanese culture
- strong Japanese vocabulary knowledge
- Experience traveling or living in Japan is a plus
